Facts to know about the doctoral programme in Medical Science at UFL

The extra-occupational doctoral program Medical Science (Dr. scient. med.) promotes the understanding of methods and competences of a scientific, interdisciplinary cooperation between clinical research and basic research, familiarizes students with methods and concepts of medical science and prepares them for a job in a research that is predominantly clinical, but also natural science and/or health science oriented.

The programme is aimed at people who have successfully completed their university studies in a relevant field and who wish to acquire or further develop research competence in the context of their current or future activities. Relevant to the subject matter are all completed courses of study in which the curricula focus on imparting knowledge and skills relevant to medicine, nursing, health care or the natural sciences.

    To enable systematic understanding of methods and competences and independent scientific work within the framework of interdisciplinary scientific cooperation between clinical research and basic research.

    Persons working in the fields of human, dental or veterinary medicine or pharmacy
  • Admission requirements
    Registration, application and fulfilment of the required prior university education. This includes the successful completion (diploma, master's degree) of a recognised university or college.
