Prof. Dr. iur. Claudia Seitz, M.A. (King´s College London), Executive Master in Law and AI (BSC Brussels) ist Professorin für Öffentliches Recht, Europarecht, Völkerrecht und Life Sciences-Recht an der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Privaten Universität im Fürstentum Liechtenstein (UFL), Triesen.

Vita

Claudia Seitz studierte Rechtswissenschaften an den Universitäten Freiburg, Basel und Strassburg mit Auslandsaufenthalten in Helsinki und Florenz. Nach dem Ersten Juristischen Staatsexamen 1996 war sie als Stagiare im Kabinett des deutschen Richters am Europäischen Gerichtshof in Luxemburg tätig. Nach dem Referendariat und dem Zweiten Juristischen Staatsexamen 1998 arbeitete sie von 1998 bis 1999 als Associate bei der internationalen Kanzlei Cleary Gottlieb in Brüssel. 2001 promovierte sie im Europarecht zur Dr. iur. an der Universität Basel.

Von 2002 bis 2009 war sie als Counsel bei einem internationalen Life Sciences-Unternehmen in Basel tätig. Daneben absolvierte sie am King´s College London von 2006 bis 2007 ein Postgraduiertenstudium und von 2008 bis 2009 ein Masterstudium, welches sie 2009 mit einem Master (Master in Arts, M.A.) abschloss. Seit 2007 ist sie Lehrbeauftragte an der Universität Basel im Fachbereich Öffentliches Recht.

Von 2014 bis 2019 war sie Max Geldner-Assistenzprofessorin an der Universität Basel. Seit 2019 ist sie Gastprofessorin an der Universität Gent und zudem Lehrbeauftragte an der Universität Bonn sowie seit 2021 auch an der Privaten Universität im Fürstentum Liechtenstein (UFL) und lehrt und forscht im Staats- und Verwaltungsrecht, Europarecht, Völkerrecht und Life Sciences-Recht.

Claudia Seitz habilitierte sich an der Universität Basel mit Habilitationsschrift „Gesundheit und Staat“. 2022 wurde ihr die Venia Legendi für Öffentliches Recht, Europarecht, Völkerrecht und Life Sciences-Recht erteilt.

Im 2023 erwarb sie einen zweiten Master (Executive Master in Law and AI) an der Brussels School of Artificial Intelligence (BSC Brüssel). 

Zum Jahresbeginn 2023 wurde Claudia Seitz als Professorin für Öffentliches Recht, Europarecht, Völkerrecht und Life Sciences-Recht an die UFL berufen. In 2024 wird sie zudem Gastprofessorin an der Universität Bina Nusantara (BINUS) in Jakarta sein.

Prof. Dr. iur. Claudia Seitz, M.A. (King´s College London), Executive Master in Law and AI (BSC Brussels) is Professor of Public Law, European Law, Public International Law and Life Sciences Law at the Faculty of Law of the Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL), Triesen.

Vita

Claudia Seitz studied law at the Universities of Freiburg, Basel and Strasbourg with additional studies in Helsinki and Florence. After the First State Law Examination in 1996, she worked as a trainee in the cabinet of the German judge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. After her legal clerkship (Referendariat) and the Second State Examination in 1998, she worked as an associate at the international law firm Cleary Gottlieb in Brussels from 1998 to 1999. She received her doctorate (Dr. iur.) in European Law from the University of Basel in 2001.

From 2002 to 2009 she worked as Counsel for an international life sciences company in Basel. In parallel, she completed postgraduate studies at King's College London from 2006 to 2007 and a master programme from 2008 to 2009 and received a master's degree (Master in Arts, M.A.) in 2009. Since 2007, she is a Lecturer at the Department of Public Law of the University of Basel.

From 2014 to 2019, she was Max Geldner Assistant Professor at the University of Basel. Since 2019, she is a Visiting Professor at University of Ghent as well as a Lecturer at the University of Bonn and, since 2021, also at the Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL), teaching and researching in Constitutional and Administrative Law, European Law, Public International Law and Life Sciences Law.

Claudia Seitz completed her habilitation at the University of Basel with the habilitation thesis "Health and the State". In 2022 she was awarded the Venia Legendi for Public Law, European Law, Public International Law and Life Sciences Law.

In 2023, she received a second master´s degree (Executive Master in Law and AI) from the Brussels School of Artificial Intelligence (BSC Brussels).

In early 2023, Claudia Seitz was appointed as the Professor of Public Law, European Law, Public International Law and Life Sciences Law at the UFL. In 2024 she will also be a Visiting Professor at the Bina Nusantara (BINUS) University in Jakarta.
