Prof. Gallati, Associate Professor of Human Genetics and FAMH specialist in medical genetic analysis, headed the Department of Human Genetics at Inselspital Bern until 2018. She is co-director of Hirslanden Precise. Prof. Gallati studied biology at the University of Bern, specialising in genetics. She established the ‘Molecular Genetic Diagnostics’ unit at the University Clinic for Paediatrics at Inselspital and expanded it into the Department of Human Genetics. Since 2007, Prof. Gallati has been President of GUMEK, the Swiss Federal Commission for Genetic Testing in Humans.
