International
The Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL) combines regional roots with an international outlook. Collaborations with partners in Liechtenstein, the Lake Constance region and worldwide expand research and teaching, promote academic exchange and open up shared perspectives on key scientific issues.
For students and researchers, this means access to international programmes, joint projects and an expanded scientific environment. Collaborations thus create a framework for incorporating different perspectives and jointly observing and classifying current developments with partners.
Regional partnerships with impact
The UFL maintains close cooperation with Liechtenstein and its neighbours. Joint projects with local institutions, associations and scientific establishments directly integrate research into the region. For example, the UFL works with partners from the fields of medicine and law on topics that are crucial for society and the location, thereby actively contributing to the further development of the regional science and innovation area.
Alliances in research and teaching
The UFL maintains a wide range of international partnerships with universities, networks and member institutions. This cooperation enables joint research projects and teaching programmes, promotes academic exchange and creates strategic visibility beyond the DACH region. This positions the UFL in an international environment that works together on global issues.
International centers as a source of ideas
With international centres, the UFL works on future-oriented fields of high social and scientific relevance. The Centre for Space and Aviation Law (CSA) and the Centre for Intellectual Property and Law (CIPIL) are examples of topics that are developed in international collaboration. Strategic cooperation with partners creates the framework for conducting well-founded research into complex developments and contributing scientific insights to global debates.
Programmes with partner universities

Erasmus+
The UFL holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). This is a prerequisite for participation in the Erasmus+ programme and forms the quality framework for mobility and cooperation measures. It enables UFL students and staff to undertake study visits, teaching assignments and further training within the European Higher Education Area and beyond.
In Liechtenstein, the Erasmus+ programme is coordinated by the AIBA – Agency for International Education Affairs as the national agency.
