Since 2013 Dr. iur. Alexander Ospelt is member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Private University Liechtenstein (UFL).
Dr. iur. Alexander Ospelt has been working as an independent lawyer since 1997. In 1993, he worked at the Permanent Mission of Liechtenstein to the United Nations (UN) in New York. From 1994 until he established his own law firm in 1997, he worked at the Liechtenstein District Court and at a renowned law firm in Liechtenstein. From 1987 to 1993, he studied at the University of St. Gallen. He then studied European law at the Free University of Brussels. In 1997, he passed the Liechtenstein bar exam and in 1999 he received his doctorate in law.
Member of various associations and boards of directors. These include 1998-2002: Member of the Executive Board of the Liechtenstein Football Association, 2002-2006: Member of the Presidium of the Progressive Citizens' Party, 2005-2009: Chairman of the Board of Directors of Liechtenstein Power Stations, 2001-2004 member of the board of the Liechtenstein Bar Association, since 2006 president of the KIT Crisis Intervention Foundation, since 2008 member of the board of DACH (European Lawyers' Association), since 2012 president of Liechtenstein Life Assurance AG, since 2013 member of the board of Liechtenstein Marketing and scientific advisor to the UFL. Member of Lions Club International.
Author of numerous publications. Doctoral thesis on the freedom of movement for freelance professionals in the European Economic Area and its impact on Liechtenstein's professional law. Practical implementation: Won a case for a client before the EFTA Court in Luxembourg against Liechtenstein regarding the residence requirement.
