Dr. Ulrich Wagner has been Project Manager for Academic Development at the Private University of the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL) since February 2026, where he is responsible for the strategy, concept, and implementation development of innovative educational products. Previously, he worked as an expert in executive education at the School of Medicine at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), specializing in health economics and management. His comprehensive expertise in health and education management, with over 30 years of experience, makes him the ideal candidate for this position.

Professional background (short bio):
Dr. Wagner has extensive experience in the leadership and management of educational and healthcare organizations. Among other things, he was director of the Foundation "National Institute for Cancer Epidemiology and Registration" (NICER) from 2019 to 2022 and founding director of the National Agency for Cancer Registration (NACR), whose legal basis he co-authored and implemented with NACR. Prior to that, he was head of the population-based health statistics section at the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (FSO). He also served as director of the Swiss Cancer Institute (SAKK) before becoming professor for organization and strategic management and founding director of the EMBA Health Service Management program at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, he was institute director, spokesperson for the Institute Directors' Conference, and member of the university management board at the University of Applied Sciences St. Gallen (now OST). He has been a lecturer in strategic management at the FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts for many years and is an associate professor in the MBA program at the University of Bucharest.
